
HOW THE HELL DO I FIX THIS I JUST WANNA PLAY THE DAMN GAME. I've tried exiting Steam and restarting, deleting the Steam folder 'appcache', restarting my computer entirely, etc.

If I end the task it stops running in the background but otherwise does not fix the issue. I sent EA a trace.txt and wiped a few caches. I am running OSX 10.11.6 and have updated everything that is possible to. This happens whether I launch through Origin or from the physical disc.

In Task Manager it again says that it is running in the background. My launcher window is transparent with no Play button, and always asks me to update the game. I tried to launch it from the Origins application and nothing happened, the "play" button just became unclickable. I went on the Sims website and registered my game and it worked just fine, and it showed up in Origins.
